The Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki welcomes you to “New Mobilities and Grounding Engagements”, a 31-hour (teaching hours) online course which will take place via Synchronous Distance Education.
The 2025 Summer School explores scholarly and creative approaches to new mobilities and investigates the role of new “spaces” of interaction in activating new practices of collectivity, community and change.
The unprecedented intensification of mobility observed in the modern world is no longer confined to territorial borders but entails a global movement that transcends geopolitical, national, social, cultural, linguistic, ethnic, and affective boundaries. How can the practice of interdisciplinary Humanities serve as a starting point for creatively addressing the challenges emerging from new mobilities?
Drawing on interdisciplinary North American Studies, emphasis will be placed on the pathways connecting the U.S. with European academic research and thought in the contemporary context. The seminars offered will shed light to new mobilities and community building through the prism of public humanities, cultural studies, communication technologies, digital media, literature, education, artistic practice and community engagement.
