    (b) To highlight structural elements for inclusion of all language learners (including those with learning difficulties or diverse backgrounds)

    (c) To provide strategies for diagnostic and didactic assessment of language components

    (d) To train language educators in implementing intervention models like RTI and multisensory methods through technology.

  • Μαθησιακά Αποτελέσματα

    Knowledge

·Possess specialized and in-depth knowledge of the core concepts and diagnostic categories of Special Educational Needs (SEN).

·Know how to analyze major intervention models such as the Response to Intervention (RTI) Model and the theoretical framework of Differentiated Instruction (DI).

·Understand and articulate the principles of the multisensory teaching method for improving literacy skills (e.g., spelling).

    Skills

·Possess a broad range of cognitive and practical skills for designing and utilizing appropriate informal and didactic assessment tools in the language classroom to evaluate core reading components (accuracy, decoding, fluency, comprehension) and writing skills.

·Apply the error analysis methodology to pinpoint specific learning difficulties (e.g., phonological errors, grammatical errors) for targeted intervention.

    Competences

·Be able to develop and implement Differentiated Lesson Plans that accommodate various learning profiles and SEN categories (e.g., giftedness, dyslexia, ASD).

·Be able to select and effectively integrate ICT and Assistive Technologies into the language classroom to support and enhance learning for learners with SEN.

·Be able to manage the design of practical accommodations to improve reading fluency, spelling accuracy, phonological awareness, and metacognitive skills.

·To leverage Artificial Intelligence (ΑΙ) tools to generate differentiated instructional materials.

    Professional outcomes

The DILL programme yields the following significant professional outcomes:

    1.Professional qualification upgrade:

oParticipants gain a high-level specialization in a critical and contemporary field (Differentiated Instruction and Special Education in Languages), substantially enhancing their Curriculum Vitae (CV).

oThe certification from the AUTh C.E.L.L. and the 1 ECTS strengthen their academic and professional portfolio for future employment or academic progression.

2.Facilitation of international mobility and networking:

oThe clear indication of eligibility for Erasmus+ funding (Staff Mobility/BIP) makes the programme a direct tool for the professional development of language educators and staff across Europe.

oIt provides an international network of professionals (teachers, researchers, and education leaders) who share common interests and practices.

    3.Immediate implementation and practical innovation:

oTrainees evolve into job-ready, innovative educators, capable of designing and implementing inclusive teaching practices that reduce school failure among students with SEN.

oThe programme equips them to serve as consultants or mentors within their school environments, disseminating evidence-based practices to colleagues.

    4.Potential for scientific contribution:

oThe programme provides the necessary theoretical and methodological groundwork for students and researchers (PhD candidates/post-doctoral researchers) to deepen their research in the fields of Didactics, Special Education, and Linguistics.

  • Σε ποιους απευθύνεται

The intensive Summer School is a specialized programme focusing on the application of Differentiated Instruction (DI) and addressing Special Educational Needs (SEN). It leverages technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to ensure inclusion in the language classroom. The programme aims to provide a deep understanding of the theoretical principles of Differentiated Instruction (DI) and Special Educational Needs (SEN), while training language educators in designing and implementing evidence-based didactic intervention models using ICT tools, AI, and digital platforms to ensure inclusion within the language classroom aiming to maximize learning outcomes for all students. The programme responds directly to one of the greatest contemporary challenges: the need for inclusive education and the management of heterogeneous classes in language learning and thus fills an important educational and professional gap in language teacher training by offering specialized, evidence-based strategies and tools that are essential for maximizing learning for all language learners.
