The Center for Training and Lifelong Learning (KEDIVIM) of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) welcomes you to the educational program entitled “«11th International Summer School: Medical Law and Bioethics “DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY, AI AND HEALTHCARE”»,”, lasting 42 teaching hours, which will be held from 5/7/2026 to 10/7/2026 and will be implemented using the in person (with the possibility of remote attendance)method.

The objective of the program is for participants to understand the legal dimensions of liability for AI-assisted robots in modern medicine, the navigation of the legal landscape of artificial intelligence in healthcare: framework, challenges, and emerging legal issues, digital technology and AI applications in healthcare: opportunities and risks, the role of digital facial recognition and AI systems in forensic medicine, developments in AI and digital technologies for improved human-centric approaches in healthcare: the example of allergic rhinitis, the ethics of artificial intelligence, criminal liability in health-related AI, AI and pharmacovigilance, health data in the AI era: challenges and prospects, AI in drug discovery: ethical and bioethical issues, disease diagnosis using algorithms, elderly care and brain health in the age of AI, legal liability of medical AI systems: who is responsible when AI makes mistakes?, improving health equity through AI, AI and big data, AI in the prevention of surgical complications and sentinel events, smart hospitals: challenges and opportunities, the impact of AI on healthcare insurance, digital health in chronic diseases powered by AI and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), mental sovereignty and consciousness in the age of AI, transhumanism, and post-humanism.
Upon completion of the program, participants will acquire interdisciplinary knowledge in the field of digital technologyand artificial intelligence in healthcare, as well as an understanding of the bioethical issues arising in relation to thesefields.

After successful completion of the program, participants are awarded a Certificate of General Training, which is issued by the Center for Training and Lifelong Learning of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and signed by the President of KEDIVIM.
