  • Στόχος του προγράμματος

The aim of the program is to strengthen the knowledge and skills of adult educators and professionals working with older adults, in order to promote critical thinking and media literacy within this particularly vulnerable social group. The program focuses on understanding the mechanisms of misinformation, developing pedagogical strategies to empower older adults, and promoting inclusive digital practices. At the same time, it seeks to enhance intergenerational learning and contribute to bridging the digital divide, fostering social inclusion and the active participation of older adults in the digital age. Through innovative content and European collaboration, the program aspires to create multipliers of knowledge who will apply these skills in communities and educational settings.

  • Μαθησιακά Αποτελέσματα

Upon completing the course, participants will be able to understand key concepts related to media literacy, misinformation, and digital exclusion, while recognizing the particular challenges faced by older citizens in the digital environment. They will acquire skills in evaluating the reliability of sources, using verification tools, and developing pedagogical strategies for promoting critical thinking among older learners. At the same time, they will be able to design and implement educational activities using digital tools and inclusive practices. Finally, they will develop collaboration, autonomy, and responsibility skills, enabling them to act as multipliers of knowledge and to contribute actively to strengthening digital literacy and the social participation of older adults.

  • Σε ποιους απευθύνεται

The program is addressed to adult educators, social workers, healthcare professionals, researchers, civil society organization staff, as well as journalists and teachers who work with or come into contact with older citizens. Its aim is to provide them with the necessary tools to strengthen critical thinking and digital literacy among older adults, thereby contributing to reducing the digital divide and empowering their participation in the public sphere. The program also addresses those interested in acquiring specialized knowledge of contemporary challenges related to misinformation and digital inclusion, with a view to applying them in educational, social, or professional contexts.

  • Μέθοδος Υλοποίησης

The program is delivered through blended learning, combining asynchronous and synchronous education, in order to meet the needs and time constraints of participants. Asynchronous learning takes place through an e-learning digital platform, which provides theoretical material, video lectures, guidelines, and self-assessment activities. Synchronous learning includes online seminars (webinars), discussions, and experiential workshops that encourage interaction, exchange of experiences, and active participation. Particular emphasis is placed on experiential learning, through case studies, simulations, and practical exercises that connect theory with practice. Participants will be asked to design small-scale educational interventions tailored to the needs of older adults, applying tools of critical literacy and misinformation counteraction. Evaluation is carried out continuously through exercises, quizzes, and reflective activities, while at the end of the program participants will present a small project. The methodology makes use of participatory and collaborative practices, ensuring both the development of individual skills and the cultivation of learning communities with an intergenerational dimension.
