  • Σύντομη Περιγραφή

    The Center for Education and Lifelong Learning of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki welcomes you to the CVML Programming Short Course and Workshop on Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Big Data Analytics 2024, a 21-hour course that will take place at KEDEA, 3is Septemvriou – Panepistimioupoli, 54636, Thessaloniki, Greece.

    The Scientific Director of the Program is Ioannis Pitas, Professor, School of Informatics, AUTh.

    Prof. Ioannis Pitas (IEEE fellow, IEEE Distinguished Lecturer, EURASIP fellow) received the Diploma and PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece. Since 1994, he has been a Professor at the Department of Informatics of AUTH and Director of the Artificial Intelligence and Information Analysis (AIIA) lab. He served as a Visiting Professor at several Universities.

    His current interests are in the areas of computer vision, machine learning, autonomous systems, intelligent digital media, image/video processing, human-centred computing, affective computing, 3D imaging and biomedical imaging. He has published over 970 papers, contributed to 46 books in his areas of interest and edited or (co-)authored another 15 books. He has also been member of the program committee of many scientific conferences and workshops. In the past he served as Associate Editor or co-Editor of 23 international journals and General or Technical Chair of 5 international conferences. He delivered 129 keynote/invited speeches worldwide. He co-organized 38 conferences and participated in technical committees of 291 conferences. He participated in 75+ R&D projects, primarily funded by the European Union and is/was principal investigator in 47 such projects. He is the coordinator of the Horizon Europe R&D project TEMA ( https://tema-project.eu/) , AUTH principal investigator in H2020 R&D projects Aerial Core (https://aerial-core.eu/), AI4Media (https://www.ai4media.eu/ one of the 4 H2020 ICT48 AI flagship projects) and Horizon Europe R&D projects AI4Europe (https://www.egi.eu/project/ai4europe/), SIMAR (https://simar-project.eu/). He is chair of the International AI Doctoral Academy (AIDA) (https://www.i-aida.org/).  He was chair and initiator of the IEEE Autonomous Systems Initiative (https://ieeeasi.signalprocessingsociety.org/). He has 37300+ citations to his work and h-index 92+.

    The aim of this course is to provide useful knowledge on topics related to “Deep Learning, Computer Vision and Big Data Analytics” to young scientists.

    Upon completion of the course, participants will acquire a foundational understanding of the initial steps necessary to embark on research within the field of deep learning for natural disaster management.

    Priority order will be observed based on filing date up to 40 people.

    1. Pdf slides will be available to the attendees.
    2. The participants will receive a Certificate of Specialized Training upon successful competition of the course.

  • Υποχρεώσεις και Δικαιώματα Εκπαιδευομένων

    Obligations of Trainees:

    1. Participation in the programs of K.E.DI.BI.M. of the AUTH implies full acceptance of the program’s Study Guide and the Internal Regulation of Operation of the K.E.DI.BI.M. of the AUTH.
    2. For the successful completion of the program, the participants should:
    3. have attended more than 70% of the lectures and workshops
    4. have completed the questionnaires with mark at least 5/10.
    5. have paid all the tuition fees by 27/08/2024

    Rights of Trainees:

    1. Trainees are informed by the Department of Administrative Support of K.E.DI.BI.M. for all kinds of information related to the operation of the Centre.
    2. Trainees are supported electronically through the educational platform by the trainers, as part of the educational process, to resolve questions and provide clarifications related to the thematic units of the programme.
    3. Trainees have the right to apply for the interruption/termination of their programme attendance and a refund of their tuition fees, in accordance with the provisions of par. 12.9 hereof.
    4. Students’/Trainees’ work is protected under the Copyright Regulations/Provisions.
  • Πιστοποιητικό

    After successful completion of the program, participants receive a Certificate of Specialized Training, which is issued by the Center for Education and Lifelong Learning AUTH and signed by the President of the Center.

    Participants who have attended but not successfully completed the program, will be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

    For the successful completion of the program, the participants should:

    A) have completed the questionnaires with mark at least 5/10.

    B) have paid all the tuition fees by 27/08/2024.
